    DIVING ISSF

Safe diving is a well thought-out configuration of your own equipment and proper selection of its elements. ISSF divers use a consistent equipment configuration at all training levels so that be able to handle the stressful situation in an instinctive and perfect way. Arranging the equipment in the same way, eliminates unnecessary stress to a minimum and makes the dives become more relaxing.

When the diver is loaded with many tasks in technical diving, often the configuration and its awareness and ability to operate in a perfect way determine whether the dive will be successful or not.

    INDIVIDUAL SYSTEM ELEMENTS
    The wing and harness
The harness consists of one-piece strap. It is possible to use a metal buckle on the left arm for a quick-release (in recreational diving, plastic adjustable buckles are allowed).
    Metal D-rings
Movable, bent, one on each shoulder strap and one on the left of the waist belt. The crotch strap supports two D-rings, the front D-ring (so-called temporary, as a scooter attachment point) and the rear D-ring (so-called transport, for towing additional gear). Fixed D-rings are allowed, only on the waist belt, on the left and right.
    Cylinder with a valve
    DIN type
    Hoses
A primary regulator hose is 180-210 centimeters long (depending on the diver’s body size) and secured under the canister light battery or under the weight pocket, the stabilizer or otherwise fixed, enabling its easy release underwater. Close to the second stage of a regulator (about 5-10 cm), there is a sliding bolt snap tied with a cord to the hose in a way that prevents tearing. The distance of the piston hook attached to the long hose should be selected precisely in order to allow the second stage of the regulator to be used when it is suspended on the chest ring. A back-up regulator hose of the correct length is worn on the neck, allowing the regulator to sit below the diver’s chin.
    The manometer
The manometer is a simple device, worn behind the diver’s left shoulder in front of the wing and attached to the left waist D-ring. The length of its hose should be adjusted to the height of the diver. The hose cannot form a loop protruding beyond the body contour. ISSF does not recommend the use of diving consoles, meaning a group of measuring instruments mounted on it and electronic transmitters as the main device monitoring the amount of gas in the cylinder.
    Lights
Primary light, canister-style, hip-mounted to the right side, secured with an additional buckle or an additional D-ring on the waist belt. Back-up light, mounted on the harness shoulder strap with a sliding bolt snap, held to the strap by an elastic band. The second back-up light, when used, is mounted on the second shoulder strap. It is possible to use lights without a separate canister.
If other accessories are used, they are placed in such a way that they are easily accessible without bulging to the side or projecting beyond the outline. In the event the dry suit is used, the accessories are kept in the hip-mounted suit pockets.
